Feature and Follow #9

 photo FFbloglovin.jpg

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

This Week's Question is:
Bookshelf Tour. Give us a tour of your bookshelf.

I honestly almost forgot to do this.. I've been dealing with really bad sinus' all week and haven't felt up to doing much of anything. Today while my daughter was a school my twin sister took our nephew (who I normally watch during the day) so that I could sleep, I was so exhausted. You must pardon the mess that is my desk.. lol.

I tend to read a lot sitting at my desk, simply because my desk chair is really comfortable and I can listen to music on my laptop while reading.

Another spot I like to read in is my bed. (sorry for the blurry pic)

 Next Week:
What book (or TV show or movie) have you not read that seemingly everyone else has?

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read. Each host will have their own Feature Blog and this way it’ll allow us to show off more new blogs!

This Week's Question is:
What were some of your favorite picture books as a kid? If you have kids, what are your favorites to read to them?

 photo Bellabooks.jpg
When my daughter was smaller and not reading books to me I remember her bringing us these books over and over. She loved these two and by the time she grew out of them they were falling apart.

I don't recall the exact names of the other books we read to her, but she had a bunch of them. I know we had some "Baby Mickey" shapes and color books. Whenever someone asked me what they could get her I told them clothes and board books.

This Week's Question is:
Bookshelf Tour. Give us a tour of your bookshelf.

I have a bookcase that is 3 cubes by 3 cubes, and yet for some reason only 4 are full of books the others are full of things I've kept from my past. Three of these shelves hold my books, the other is my little sister's books. I just group them by author most of the time.

Then I have a bookcase in the living room that has a shelf of books.

Finally, Library books stay on my desk so that I know what I have to read.

This Week's Question is:
If you could only have ONE – one book – for the rest of your life. Don’t cheat…what would it be?

 photo Acheron.jpg

For me it's the perfect balance of a action and romance. Also, I loved learning more about Acheron. Some parts were hard to read, for me that just makes it that much more believable.

Next Week:
Bookshelf Tour. Give us a tour of your bookshelf.

This Week's Question is:
Share something you’ve learned about book blogging or just blogging in general in the last month.

I haven't been book blogging for long, and am still learning really. But since I'm just now starting out I'm trying to have a post every day. Hopefully eventually I'll be able to post more than one thing a day. Right now I just try not to go without posting something. I've also learned to do the posts ahead of time and just have them scheduled to post on a given day. It makes me less stressed and I can enjoy my reading more.

Next Week's Question:
Book Selfie! Take a pic with your current read.

This Week's Question is:
Back to school. Create a reading list for the imaginary English Lit class you’ll be teaching this semester.

When I think of English Lit I always think of all the various books I've read in English class..

We read, among other things:

 photo Beowulf2.jpg  photo JaneEyre2.jpg  photo HuckFinn2.jpg

I know that's not exactly what the question asked.. But I have never had any interest in being a teacher and couldn't imagine picking books for a class to read. None of these books were very pleasant to read.. but I came to expect that in english and just read my own books for pleasure.

Next Week's Question:
Share something you’ve learned about book blogging or just blogging in general in the last month.

This Week's Question is:
How do you handle a book you don't like? Do you DNF or do you power through?

If I only have a slight dislike for a character but like everything else about the book I will finish it. Which is what I do for the most part.
There has been only one book that I can remember not finishing and that is Port Mortuary by Patricia Cornwell the main character's personality and core values seemed to be changing in the last couple books and this one just threw it over for me. I was trying to give the series a chance to see if she would come back to the way she was in the beginning, but she didn't. She wasn't the character I fell in love with anymore. So I stopped reading.

Back to school. Create a reading list for the imaginary English Lit class you’ll be teaching this semester.

This Week's Question is:
What do you do with your books after you are done reading them?

Most of the time I've gotten my books from the library so they just get taken back.. but if they are books I own then they just get put back on the shelf cause my sisters borrow my books from me after I've read them.

Next Week's Question:
How do you handle a book you don't like? Do you DNF or do you power through?
